A death sentence, if one allows it, can force a body to come face-to-face with one’s own mortality making the contemplation of death, the acceptance of death, a whole lot easier.
I’m already on Death Row which puts my death right there in my face. Why not just accept it — live life as a dead man and simply let go of life?
It’s rather sad, and pretty enlightening, being on Death Row. Every day you wake up and you know exactly what your reality is. Regardless of whether it will happen or not, the cold hard facts — at least for me — is that they are going to kill me one day.
