Many that I knew died over the month and I wondered if their families were afforded the opportunity to say goodbye. I know if I got sick and died no one would be there. I would transition. That would be it. Inmates who die in prison with no one to claim the body for burial are simply cremated and end up on a storage room shelf. It is not the vision I like, but certainly the most possible reality; having no one to claim my body or bury me.
