Prison journalism is like a constant river of knowledge
Its projects are like a determined stream of poetic rhapsody
It flows into Black lives’ hearts and reminds them that they are significant
PJP flows from one state to another
Poetry from my mind to yours
Its kindness and …
Compassion flows just like air
Black lives matters holds on to love so dear
As to not allow themselves to disintegrate
Into the dust of nothingness
Hate is in the minds of those who oppose
My poetry spoken so emphatically like poetry and prose
PJP is like a lonely yellow rose
Essays and articles and art blossoms and grows
Into something courageous and wise
PJP is a precious jewel that sparkles and shines
The relationship it has with collaborators is truly divine
Your personality is unique
And PJP journalism knocks people right off their feet
We are all proud to call you our own
Just promise that you will never leave us all alone
