Recently, I discovered a sunflower growing out of a crack on the sidewalk at my prison. It was formed by an earthquake — when, I don’t remember. It reminded me of the Ukrainian sunflower. Against the massive and powerful Russian army, the brave and beautiful Ukrainian people fight on, as miraculously as a sunflower growing out of concrete in a place as dark as prison.

Miracles do happen!
