Prison Journalism Project invites a select number of writers and artists, who regularly submit to us to join our contributing writers and artists program, based on the overall quality of their work. We not have application process. We send out invitations on a rolling basis, and typically consider a writer after they’ve had five to ten stories published on PJP, including several that are highlighted as Spotlight and Featured stories. Artists must have submitted a similar body of work.
Prison Journalism Project’s contributing writers will be among the first to be invited to participate in new training and collaborative publication opportunities as we roll them out. They are also welcome to identify themselves as a PJP contributing writer or artist in their bio or resume.
If you are interested in becoming a contributing writer or artist, please submit your best stories and art.
See our Write For Us page for more information on how to submit to the Prison Journalism Project.
