Mason Bryan
Mason Bryan is Prison Journalism Project's editorial director. He has supported incarcerated writers who have been published in the New York Times, Al Jazeera English, The Guardian, Poynter Institute and numerous local outlets across the country. Mason was a fellow in the 2024 Maynard 200 program.
Before PJP, he served as the associate opinion editor for Crosscut (now Cascade PBS), Washington State's largest independent news site. He has won multiple awards from the Society of Professional Journalists for stories he wrote on art, social justice and higher education. He graduated from Seattle University with a degree in political science.
