Roe v. Wade
On June 24, 2022, in a 6-3 decision on Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, the U.S. Supreme Court officially reversed Roe v. Wade, a landmark 1973 ruling that affirmed the constitutional right to abortion. As a result, abortion is no longer available in nearly half the country as individual states immediately began banning the procedure.
